  7. Hardware requirements:     
  8. - Apple Macintosh™ computer
  9.    (68040 or PowerPC processor recommended)
  10. - 13 " 256-color monitor
  11.    (resolution 640x480 or higher resolution and depth).
  12. - 8 MB installed RAM
  13.    (al least 5 MB free memory recommended)
  14. - CD-ROM drive (double-speed).
  15.  
  16. Software requirements:        
  17. - Macintosh System 7 or higher.
  18. - QuickTime™ 2.1 or higher (QuickTime 2.1 on CD-ROM,
  19.    look at the "QuickTime 2.1 ReadMe" file in the "QuickTime 2.1" folder).
  20.  
  21. Options:
  22. After the introductory animation, you can choose to view the Museum
  23. Quicktime VR movie in either low, or high resolution. The default 
  24. setting is "high resolution".  
  25. If some problems occur, or if panning in the Quicktime VR scene is very slow,
  26. restart "100 Masterpieces" and choose the "low resolution" viewing mode.

  28. Performance:      
  29. To achieve maximum performance it is recommended that you quit all 
  30. other applications and turn off unused extensions and background tasks 
  31. such as AppleTalk and file sharing. In the "Memory" Control Panel, turn off
  32. off "Virtual Memory" and set "Disk Cache" to 64K.
  33. To achieve maximum quality in videoplayback set the colordepth in the 
  34. "Monitor" Control Panel to 32768 colors (if possible).
